Alcácer opens the scoring
After the initial minutes of the match where Celta de Vigo started besieging Domenech’s goal, Valencia found a goal in their first clear chance. A perfect pass through the defence by Dani Parejo got to Paco Alcácer inside the box and the Spanish striker didn’t give way to Sergio Alvarez’s effort to stop him.
Augusto and Celta’s reaction
At one goal down, the Galician team did their utmost to draw, while Valencia was yielding ground. After several attempts, the men managed by Berizzo scored the equalizer from a strategic move. A corner kick sent to the second post was sent on by Pablo Hernandez for Augusto to draw the game.
Outstanding goal by Parejo before half time
Celta de Vigo didn’t lose hope and continued with their game plan looking for a goal to turn the tables. They managed to lock the away team in their penalty area, but there was severe lack of aim. The Valencians seemed comfortable with the proximity of the break when a spectacular free kick by Parejo gave Valencia their second goal.
Big mistake by Jonny
Right after the start of the second half, the match turned out even worse for the home side. Jonny didn’t adjust properly a back pass to his goalkeeper and ended up leaving Alcácer by himself in front of Sergio Alvarez. The striker didn’t miss his chance and scored the third goal for his team
Post for Celta, goal by Parejo
Even though they had taken a big hit by Nuno’s side, Celta tried to score a goal that would give them chances for a comeback. It could have come from Pablo Hernandez’s boots, but his strike hit the post when the local supporters were already celebrating. However, what came afterwards was the final hit against the home team. In another counterattack by Valencia, this time Alcácer assisted and Parejo scored the fourth goal. With Celta fully attacking, Mustafi closed the landslide victory and sealed the Valencian authority.
