The team managed by Nuno imposed their solidity and firepower on an unrecognisable Getafe in a clash that saw goals from Alcácer, André Gomes and Rodrigo for the visitors.

Valencia CF recorded their third win on the trot in the Liga BBVA after beating Getafe CF 0-3, taking three points that put them in second place and leave the Azulones in sixteenth position.

The effectiveness and verve of Valencia were stamped on the pitch in the first 45 minutes. Nuno Espírito Santo’s men looked very comfortable early in the match and things got even easier when they scored two goals in the first 20 minutes. Their solidity in the first half allowed them to take a two-goal lead into half-time. The first chance that fell to striker Paco Alcácer, who is in a rich vein of form, ended up in the back of the net. The goal allowed Valencia to play more freely in attack against a Getafe that was yet to get into the match. Shortly afterwards, a great one-two between André Gomes and Alcácer set the Portuguese midfielder up for a goal.

In the second half, the home team, with the same intensity as in the first, but with more possession of the ball, tried to unsettle Diego Alves, who had so far only had to see off two shots from Ángel Lafita. From there, the visitors searched for a third goal to put the final nail in their opponent’s coffin; it would come from the penalty spot, after Sofiane Feghouli was brought down in the area, and striker Rodrigo Moreno would put his name on it. Rodrigo was later given his marching orders towards the end of the match, which ended 0-3 to the Valencians.
