Valencia out to put Getafe revival to the test

On the back of their win over Real Sociedad, which served to inject some life into their survival bid, Juan Eduardo Esnaider's charges will be looking to drag themselves out of the drop zone as they welcome the in-form Valencia to the Coliseum Alfonso Perez.

SÁB 23.04.2016

Team News:

- Getafe CF: Juan Cala and Alvaro Pereira (injured); Roberto Lago, Emi Buendia and Juan Rodriguez (suspended)

- Valencia CF: Zakaria Bakkali and Pablo Piatti (injured)

Match Facts:

Getafe CF (19th, 31 pts):

- The side from the outskirts of Madrid brought their dismal 13-game winless Liga BBVA run to an end with a 2-1 triumph at Real Sociedad, which came courtesy of a Pablo Sarabia strike and an Alvaro Vazquez spot-kick.

- Getafe haven't recorded a home victory for six games. Their last triumph on home soil came back on 17 January, when they ran out 3-1 winners over RCD Espanyol. Since then, the Azulones have managed two draws and have slipped to four defeats on their own patch.

- Juan Eduardo Esnaider's men sit two points from safety and could move themselves out of the drop zone with a win on Sunday.

Valencia CF (8th, 43 pts):

- After a run of four defeats on the bounce, Pako Ayestaran's troops have now won three on the trot, after having seen off Sevilla FC, FC Barcelona and SD Eibar in their last three games.

-The nine points Los Che have collected in their last three league outings have seen them climb up to 8th, which is the highest they've been in the Liga BBVA standings since Matchday 15.

- The Valencians have come away with maximum points from their last three trips to Getafe. Last season they eased to a 3-0 win, with Paco Alcacer, Andre Gomes and Rodrigo all on target that day and in both of the two previous years, Valencia edged to 1-0 away wins.

What's on in Getafe this weekend?

To mark Getafe's celebration of La Noche de los Libros (Book Night), the city council has organised a whole host of activities right across the weekend. The programme of events for Saturday and Sunday includes workshops, audio-visual screenings, reading sessions, storytelling and craft activities. The highlight of the weekend is the free concert to see Spanish singer, Tontxu, perform live in the Espacio Mercado, the city's cultural centre.
