Unai Emery named Liga BBVA Manager of the Month for January

Unai Emery has been named Liga BBVA Manager of the Month for January thanks to Sevilla FC's outstanding run of form. Three wins and a draw in that period saw the club pick up ten points, putting them in a strong position in the battle for European places.

The Andalusians have made the Ramon Sanchez-Pizjuan a real fortress and did not taste defeat on home soil in January. Victories over tricky opposition such as Athletic Club, Malaga CF and Levante UD as well as a respectable draw at the Vicente Calderon saw Emery's side shoot up the table into fifth, with a hungry squad determined to keep aiming higher and higher.

This accolade, which is awarded by BBVA, the competition's main sponsor, and voted for by the LaLiga.es writers, commends the Spanish boss on how he guided his team through five challenging fixtures, showing that Sevilla are one of the in-form sides in the division.
