The curtain will be drawn on the midweek action of matchday 39 with two mouth-watering fixtures in which hopes of gaining promotion and avoiding relegation will be once again take centre stage.
R. Racing C. - Real Betis (8pm, El Sardinero)
Following Girona FC's win over D. Alavés (0-3), R. Betis have been forced to wait at least another game before they can start celebrating their automatic passage to the Liga BBVA. With that in mind, the Andalusians will be going all out for a good result against a Racing side that also have plenty at stake. The Cantabrians currently sit in 19th and a victory would move them out of the drop zone and even closer to their goal of remaining the Liga Adelante for another year.
The El Sardinero outfit will be without the injured Francis, Koné, Borja Granero, Oriol Lozano and Andreu Guerao, while Mariano Sanz is also suspended for this fixture. Meanwhile, the Seville side have a full squad available and will be not be lacking in motivation as they look to continue making history.
UE Llagostera - Albacete B. (9pm, Municipal de Palamós)
A clash between two teams at opposite ends of the table awaits as the Catalan and the La Mancha sides battle it out to wrap things up on matchday 39 of the championship. Both clubs will be in search of a win as they look accomplish their respective missions before the seasons grinds to a halt. In the case of Llagostera, there is a playoff place on the line; while Albacete will be looking to get back to winning ways in order to climb further away from the relegation zone.
In his pre-match press conference, the Albacete manager, Luis César Sampedro, praised his side’s upcoming opponents: "Llagostera are the best team when you take their budget into account. We’re traveling to Palamós with the intention of winning, but I’m well aware of just how well they’ve been playing".
