–The San Salvador Beach Soccer Stadium was filled with excitement and shared emotions last Friday during the inauguration ceremony for 30 new social-sports schools under the LALIGA Values and Opportunity programme, which has been promoted by INDES and the FUNDACIÓN LALIGA across the entire Central American country since 2019.

Ad honorem president of the National Institute of Sports of El Salvador (INDES), Yamil Bukele, announced the new locations of the project, which seeks to enhance the lives of young Salvadorans and foster initiatives oriented toward inclusion, job placement, value-based education, violence prevention, and entrepreneurship through football.

The inauguration ceremony was attended by officials from INDES, the Ministry of Education, and representatives from the schools that have been newly inaugurated.

Specifically, the new schools will be developed in the following districts: Coatepeque, Santa Ana, Apaneca, Ahuachapán, Atiquizaya, Izalco, Chalatenango, San Salvador, La Libertad, Sensuntepeque, Tejutepeque, Jutiapa, Ilobasco, Cojutepeque, Apastepeque, Villa El Carmen, San Vicente, San Cayetano, San Miguel, Estanzuela and San Francisco Gotera.

The event also served to award the certificates that accredit a total of 161 new monitors for the LALIGA Values and Opportunity project, who are now working as physical education teachers in the national public education system. This ensures that knowledge based on the positive values of football is not only applied in the project's academies but is also extended to Salvadoran students, creating a multiplier effect on the programme's reach.

Moreover, sports equipment was handed out to a group of boys and girls from the programme, who were eager to attend the event, which drew a large crowd interested in learning more details about the educational and training programme.

Yamil Bukele stressed that "this programme was created with the intention of developing, nurturing, and training productive and good individuals for our society. We are very proud of the objectives achieved since its inception and of all the work and effort being dedicated for the benefit of our youth".

In turn, Olga de la Fuente, Director of FUNDACIÓN LALIGA, expressed her enthusiasm upon reaching this milestone: "It fills us with satisfaction to see how this programme has evolved over the years to become a highly useful pillar and a benchmark programme for

Salvadoran youth. The opening of these new socio-sports schools not only extends our reach, but also reinforces our commitment to education in values and social inclusion through sport. Every young person who is part of this project has the opportunity to develop not only their athletic skills but also the abilities that will allow them to build a better future for themselves and their communities".

A total of 213 socio-sports schools have been inaugurated by the programme, and since its inception in 2019, and it has directly impacted 278,603 children in all regions of El Salvador. Additionally, 4,536 training sessions have been implemented over four years, training more than 900 coaches, and 14 camps have been completed with over 700 participants.

LALIGA Values and Opportunity is a global benchmark as a sport-for-development programme, notable for its quantitative and qualitative impact, with the highest level of efficiency in both investment and implementation.
