Kevin Gameiro
There was only one minute on the clock when the French striker struck for the hosts. Gameiro has particularly enjoyed playing in front of his own fans and has scored 11 of his 12 goals on home turf. A great run and cross from the left by Vicente Iborra set up the Sevilla number nine, and he buried a shot into the back of the net for his 12th of the campaign.
Special game for Iborra
The midfielder, who was born in Valencia and developed as a player with Levante UD, was playing against his former club, but he showed no pity. When he received the ball from Gameiro in an unmarked position he fired home to double the score. Levante never gave up though, and pushed hard to the break without success.
Rossi
The Italian striker had already made his Levante debut against Las Palmas, on his return to LaLiga. At the Sanchez-Pizjuan, Rubi put him in the starting line-up and the 28-year-old returned the faith shown in him with a goal. He reduced the deficit and put Levante back into the game. Shortly after, he had a great chance to level the scores, but Adil Rami blocked his shot.
Audacious visitors
Levante continued to press forward and they pressured Sevilla into mistakes with the pace of Rossi and Jose Luis Morales causing them problems.
Konoplyanka
The Ukrainian midfielder was brought on with 25 minutes to go and he lifted Unai Emery's side for the closing minutes. In a counter-attack, the Sevilla number ‘22’ made the most of a hesitant defence, to strike a long-range effort into the top corner, sealing the victory for Sevilla.
