Seven Liga BBVA teams; Malaga CF, Real Sociedad, Rayo Vallecano, Club Atletico de Madrid, Valencia CF, Granada CF and Athletic Club carry the essence of Spanish football and brand Spain through four continents in the LFP World Challenge Tour from July 26th to August 8th.
For the second consecutive year LaLiga is bringing together the world’s leading professional clubs in order to internationally project the image of Spanish football and promote the qualities of Marca España as well as create opportunities for cultural and business events.
Malaga CF will open the summer tour by travelling to South America to compete in the Copa Euroamericana. The first stop for the Andalucians will be Colombia where, on the 26th of July, they will face the current league champions Deportivo Cali at 17.00 local time (00.00 Spanish time).
Following that, the Malaga squad will travel to Argentina to play San Lorenzo de Almagro in the Pedro Bidegain stadium of Buenos Aires on the 30th of July (21.00 local/ 02.00 Spanish time). Their final destination will be Uruguay, where Javi Gracia’s men will complete their tour against Club Atletico Peñarol in the Centenario de Montevideo stadium (15.00 local/20.00 Spanish time).
For their part, Club Atletico de Madrid will have two stops in the continent of Asia. The 'rojiblanco' team will travel to Japan to face Sagan Tosu on the 1st of August to kick-off their tour. The 'colchonero' squad will play their first match of LaLiga World in the Best Amenity stadium, beginning at 19.00 local and 12.00 Spanish time.
Next up, Diego Pablo Simeone's men will move on to the Chinese city of Shanghai to compete in the Wanda International Tournament 2015 against Shanghai SIPG, led by Swedish coach Sven-Göran Eriksson. The match kicks off at 19.00 local time (13.00 Spanish time) and will bring to a close the Madrid team’s time in Asia.
Real Sociedad and Rayo Vallencano will also travel to China to face each other in the historic city of Nanjing. The 'Donostiarras' and 'Madrilenos' will go head to head on the 29th of August in the Nanjing Wutaishan Sports Center Stadium, which has a capacity of 22,000. Kick-off at 19.30 local time and 12.30 Spanish time.
In Europe, the German city of Cologne will host the Cologne Cup on the 1st and the 2nd of August where Valencia CF will compete with FC Koln, Stoke City and FC Porto for the trophy. The Valencian club play their first match on the 1st against FC Porto at 17.45, while on the 2nd they face FC Koln (15.00) to finish their participation in the tournament.
Meanwhile, Granada CF travel to Africa to visit the Moroccon city of Tangier. Jose Ramon Sandoval’s men will play the LaLiga World match against Ittihad Tanger in the Grand Stade du Tangier on August 4th (20.30 local/21.30 Spanish time).
Athletic Club de Bilbao will bring the second LFP World Challenge Tour to a close on August 8th by travelling to Italy. The 'leones' will face one of the sternest tests of the pre-season when they play Inter Milan. The final Liga World match will be played in the Ennio Tardini stadium of Parma bringing the curtain down on a tour which will carry Spanish football across four continents.
