The Liga de Fútbol Profesional hosted a visit from the Japanese football league (J-League) on Friday to hold a meeting aimed at exchanging opinions and promoting the expansion of Spanish football on the Asian market.

The meeting was attended by Javier Tebas alongside a representative of the team of Liga de Fútbol Profesional directors formed by Javier Gómez, the general director, Adolfo Bara, director of marketing, Ignacio Trujillo, projects director and Ricardo Resta, the LFP’s director of competitions.

The J-League was represented by Daisuke Nakanishi, the general director of the Japanese Football League, Hiroshi Mochizuki and Kei Torii, representatives of Dentsu Inc, one of the leading communication and advertising companies in Japan.

The main purpose of the meeting was to share and learn about the operation of both leagues in order to work together in the future. In addition, the LFP stated its interest in promoting the Liga BBVA, the Liga Adelante, their clubs and their players. The competition is currently considered the most important in Asia.

The representatives of the Japanese league were keen to learn, first hand, about the workings of Spanish football, as well as the learning and training system for coaches in Spain.

After the event, there was an exchange of gifts in which the LFP and the Japanese league stated their intentions to collaborate with a twinning memorandum.
