The leaders stride onwards

UD Las Palmas took all three points from the Nuevo Colombino by beating RC Recreativo 2-4. Paco Herrera's men went in at half-time with a 0-3 lead and the side from Huelva managed two last-minute goals, but it was too late to make a comeback.

The Canary Islanders had Dani Sotres' goal in their sights from kick-off and after 12 minutes Nauzet Alemán made it 0-1 with an excellent free-kick that just squeezed inside the post. Ten minutes later the Yellows scored again; this time Javi Castellano latched on to a Recreativo clearance to set up Sergio Araujo and the Argentine's first-time shot resulted in his first Liga Adelante goal and made it 0-2. Before José Luis Oltra's men could respond, Vicente Gómez scored the third goal of the afternoon after a David Simón pass.

It was a similar story after the break, Las Palmas set the tempo and had all the chances. Araujo got his brace when the clock read 56 after a great move from Hernán Santana. At 0-4 down, the Decano refused to let their heads drop and cut the deficit in half thanks to goals from Menosse and Rubén Mesa, although they were unable to level the match and the three points went home with a Canary Island side who have now consolidated their leadership with 36 points.
