  • The initials UCAM stand for Universidad Catolica de Murcia (Catholic University of Murcia).
  • They were founded in 1999, with a team made up of university students. Their initial aim was simply to make a mark in Spain's leading inter-university competition, the Campeonatos de España Universitarios.
  • They entered the mainstream football pyramid in lower-league Territorial Preferente and gained promotion to the fourth tier (Tercera Division) in their first year. Their coach at the time was Juan Antonio Ros and they played their home games at the Campo de Futbol de Guadalupe.
  • In the summer of 2011, UCAM CF merged with Costa Calida CF to create the club in its current form, UCAM Murcia CF.
  • They now call La Condomina home. In the 2014/15 campaign, the club built one of the strongest squads in Segunda Division B (the third tier) and started using the historic Estadio de La Condomina for their matches.
  • This past season, Jose Maria Salmeron's men clinched promotion to the Spanish second tier for the first time in the club's history, after seeing off Real Madrid Castilla in the decider.
  • They have an institutional anthem. During the 2013/14 season, on 12 October 2014 to be precise, the UCAM Symphony Orchestra performed at Murcia's Teatro Romea for the very first time and, to mark the occasion, they composed an anthem dedicated to all of UCAM's sports teams.
  • The club's main colour is blue, with the home strip consisting of blue shirts, shorts and socks. Their away kit is all white.
  • UCAM's youth set-up includes up to 15 teams, ranging from the very youngest, the Under-7s, through to the Under-18s at the upper end.
  • Swimmer Mireia Belmonte, badminton ace Carolina Marin and figure skater Javier Fernandez are just some of the sporting stars who are part of the UCAM ranks.
