Ten things you may not know about Malaga's Juanpi

He took his first steps in the game playing for his school, Colegio San Ignacio de Loyola, which he left to join Caracas FC in 2008.

He came through the ranks at Atletico Malagueno, having moved there from Venezuelan side Caracas FC in the 2009/10 season.

He had his first contact with the Malaga first-team squad when he was called up to pre-season training in 2013. He was again called up for pre-season in 2014. 

Coach Javi Gracia handed him his top-flight first-team debut in August 2014 against Valencia at Mestalla.

He is one of four Venezuelan players in the Liga BBVA, along with Miku Fedor (Rayo Vallecano), Adalberto Penaranda (Granada CF) and his teammate Roberto Rosales.

His brother, Bernardo Anor, also plays football and plies his trade with Sporting Kansas City in the United States.

He played for his country at the 2011 South American Under-17 Championship and was then called up for the South American Under-20 Championship, where he scored one goal.

Having earned his spurs in Venezuela's youth set-up, Juanpi made his senior debut in a friendly against Chile on 14 November 2014. 

He finished high school and in the future would like to study a university degree, although for now he is focused on his football.

His club roommate is Brazilian striker Charles.
