Javier Tebas gave a talk at Sportel Asia this Wednesday entitled, "Global Innovation to Improve Content and to Add Value to Audiovisual Rights." The LaLiga president told those present about how LaLiga has been transformed in keeping with its fans' demands and major trends have been monitored so as to stay a step ahead, innovate and offer these fans everything they want to hear, see and feel.

The president added that the idea is for fans to be unable "to forget about LaLiga until the last game of every matchday. Thanks to new technologies, we can get even closer to them." He went on to remark that, "LaLiga fans should have the feeling that they are being both directly and indirectly engaged with."

During his talk, Tebas also discussed LaLiga's relationship with its international broadcasters, thanking them for putting their faith in the Spanish competition and commenting that, "the international strategy is based on hitting prime time in Asia and America. That means kick-offs at 13:00, which suit Asian broadcasters, at 16:00, and at 20:30 for viewers in America."

Another matter to which the LaLiga president referred is the organisation's strategy to combat piracy. "We invest a lot of money on clamping down on piracy through streaming and decoders. That satisfies not just broadcasters, but also fans who pay to watch Spanish football."

In reference to the LaLiga product, Tebas also announced improvements for the coming campaign: "Next season we'll be on par with the best sports events in terms of perception of the audiovisual product, and in the future we'll surpass the likes of the NBA, F1 and motorcycling."

On this note, Tebas underlined LaLiga's commitment to state-of-the-art technology: "We will spare no expense to satisfy viewers. We will invest in premium technology because we're talking about the value of Spanish football."
