Sevilla FC hit the ground running
Things could not have got off to a better start for the visitors as Unai Emery's side found themselves in front with just 10 minutes on the clock. The hosts didn't deal with the corner and Steven N’Zonzi was on hand to stab the loose ball home from close-range with what was the Frenchman's third goal in the Liga BBVA.
The Sevillians strike again
Ten minutes after having put themselves in the ascendancy, the visitors doubled their advantage. On this occasion, an effort from Kevin Gameiro was pushed away by Juan Carlos, but Vicente Iborra was first to react to put his side 2-0 up at Vallecas.
Bold substitutions
Having seen his side leak two early goals, Paco Jemez decided to shuffle his pack. On 28 minutes Adrian Embarba came on for Raul Baena and on 35 minutes Nacho made way for Manucho. These changes soon bore fruit as Manucho converted to give the hosts some hope on 43 minutes.
Belief
Rayo Vallecano kept battling away in the second half and their efforts were rewarded on 62 minutes. Bebe swung in an inviting cross and Miku, who has now found the back of the net in each of the last five matchdays, slid in to apply the finishing touch.
Dismal away run continues
Sevilla continue to struggle on the road, where their search for a first win this term goes on. The Andalusians have been beaten four times away from the Sanchez Pizjuan and the eight points they've recorded away from homehave all come courtesy of draws.
