It is time for young talents to take centre stage again. They will do so in Villarreal from 2 to 5 June, in the 25th PAMESA LaLiga Promises National Tournament. There is just a day to go until the ball starts rolling at the Pamesa Ceramica Training Ground and the Under-12s starlets set to be involved are counting down the hours. However, before the action gets underway in earnest, some legendary LaLiga figures will be helping to warm up for this eagerly awaited event in style.
On day one, LaLiga's country manager for the United States, Raul Gonzalez Blanco, will be joined by Liga BBVA ambassadors of the stature of Carles Puyol, Marcos Senna and Fernando Morientes to kick-start proceedings. They will all be coming together for what promises to be a fitting curtain-raiser, an All-Star game at 20:00 CET on Thursday 2 June. Athletic Club icon Julen Guerrero and Gica Craioveanu, formerly of Real Sociedad among others, will also be taking part in this special occasion, which has been extremely highly anticipated ever since it was announced.
The competition proper kicks off on Friday 3 June at 10:00 CET, with a thrilling day's football which will comprise the bulk of the tournament: an epic series of 40 group-stage games lasting 24 minutes each with a three-minute break for half-time.
Saturday, meanwhile, brings us the last 16 and the quarter-finals, with 12 entertaining clashes which will reveal the four semi-finalists who remain in contention to win the tournament. From 10:00 to 19:30 CET, the promising youngsters still in the mix will have another chance to shine at the spectacular Pamesa Ceramica Training Ground. The climax comes on Sunday 5 June, when the semi-final matches will produce the two finalists who will do battle in the showpiece to decide which team are crowned champions (13:00 CET).
Everything is set for one of the big events of the year, which brings together sportsmanship, excitement and talent, all thanks to LaLiga Promises.
