SK Rapid Wien 0-4 Valencia CF
With a total of 10 goals for and none against, Los Che were in cruise control against their Austrian opponents. That said, while in the first leg Gary Neville's men raced into an emphatic lead before the interval, this time round they had to wait until the second half to get going. Rodrigo broke the deadlock with an exquisite chip and barely four minutes later the hosts found themselves kicking off again after Sofiane Feghouli made it 2-0. Pablo Piatti and Ruben Vezo rounded off the scoring for a buoyant Valencia side who will now be dreaming of going further.

Athletic Club 1-1 Olympique de Marseille
Athletic held a slender one-goal advantage at kick-off and will have been keen to close out the tie comfortably in front of their supporters. Things didn't quite work out that way, however, as Michy Batshuayi set the cat among the pigeons shortly before half-time by cancelling out Aritz Aduriz's first-leg wonder strike. For long stretches of the second period it appeared that extra time was on the cards, until Sabin Merino popped up with 10 minutes to go. Markel Susaeta clipped a cross in from the right and there was Merino to power home a diving header and book his team's ticket to the round of 16.

Molde 1-0 Sevilla FC
The reigning champions march on, although they didn't serve up much to thrill those fans who had made the trip to Norway. Nevertheless, the Andalusians never looked in danger of seeing their 3-0 first-leg lead overturned, despite Eirik Hestad reducing the arrears before the break. That was to be the only goal of the night as Unai Emery's men put the tie to bed to move into the last 16 of their favourite competition.

SSC Napoli 1-1 Villarreal CF
Napoli knew that they needed to strike first in order to keep their European hopes alive and they did just that, levelling the tie through Marek Hamsik's superb volley 17 minutes in. However, the Italians had the stuffing knocked out of them when Tomas Pina pegged them back with a wicked curling strike that had a whiff of a cross-shot about it. This left Napoli requiring two more goals to advance, but Alphonse Areola was not to be beaten again, ensuring that Villarreal will be in the hat for the round-of-16 draw.
