Elche CF and Sevilla FC square off on Liga BBVA matchday eight, in a game into which the two sides come on very different form. While the side from Alicante have not tasted victory in four matches and are at the bottom end of the table with eight points, the Andalusians have 16 and are hoping to keep their place in the top four.
Team news
The home side will have to make do without forward Jonathas de Jesus, who is serving a ban after his red card in the last match. For Seville, Mariano Barbosa and Vitolo will miss the game through injury, while Kevin Gameiro is in the squad for the first time this season.
Views from the dugout
"We're playing at home, we have the support of our fans, I think the team are looking good and that we'll play a good match", stated Fran Escribá, Elche's manager. For his part, Sevilla's coach, Unai Emery, spoke about his team's aspirations for the championship: "What we have to think is that if we win, nobody can take third place from us. Our real challenge is to find continuity".
