Sergio Gonzalez sacked as RCD Espanyol coach

The Catalan club has reported that Sergio González will be relieved of his post as Espanyol first team coach.

"The until now Espanyol coach ceases to belong to the discipline of the club as a first team coach. In addition to Sergio Gonzalez, Diego Ribera, as second coach, and Miquel Gomila, as fitness trainer, have also been relieved of their duties. Sergio González is expected to make a farewell press conference in the coming days ".

The current season was the second of the Catalan coach on the "Periquitos" bench, having spent a year as coach of the second team. In his first season, the Catalans finished tenth in the standings. The record in his first year as coach in Liga BBVA was of 13 wins, 10 draws and 15 defeats.

This course, Espanyol is on the twelfth position of the table with five wins, two draws and eight defeats, 15 goals for and 26 against.
