Sergi Enrich named LaLiga SmartBank Player of the Month for April

Sergi Enrich takes the LaLiga SmartBank Player of the Month Award for April. The Real Oviedo centre-forward played an instrumental role in his team going unbeaten this month, with a balance of four victories and one draw, lifting them to ninth place and 52 points.

The uptick demonstrated by Alvaro Cervera’s side in recent weeks owes a great deal to the goalscoring instincts of the frontman from the Balearic Islands. He has found the back of the net on four occasions: against SD Eibar to rescue a point for his team; against CD Lugo to open the scoring and set them on the path to victory; and a brace to earn his team another win against UD Ibiza.

The Real Oviedo number 23 takes up the reins from SD Eibar’s Jon Bautista, who won the award in March. Enrich was the pick of the bunch in the final voting, pipping two other impressive forwards in the division: Ruben Castro (Malaga CF) and Raul Garcia de Haro (CD Mirandes).
