Savinho named LALIGA EA SPORTS Under-23 Player of the Month for January

Savio Moreira ‘Savinho’ has been named the LALIGA EA SPORTS Under-23 Player of the Month for January, an accolade awarded by LALIGA in partnership with Sorare. The young Brazilian was one of the top players in a brilliant month for Girona FC, who are sitting pretty at the top of the table on 55 points.

There is no question that the 19-year-old winger has played an instrumental role in the revolution taking place under Michel. His change of pace, his ability to beat opponents, and his skill and decision-making are the marks of a standout player, and he proved as much again this month by registering one goal and two assists. He netted the winner to make it 2-1 in the victory over Atletico Madrid at Montilivi, and he provided two assists in the drubbing of Sevilla FC, firstly for Artem Dovbyk to level the scores at 1-1 and then for Viktor Tsygankov to make it 4-1.

The Girona number 16 wins the award for the LALIGA EA SPORTS Under-23 Player of the Month after coming out on top in the voting ahead of Nico Williams (Athletic Club), Diego Lopez (Valencia CF), Lamine Yamal (FC Barcelona) and Alberto Moleiro (UD Las Palmas).
