Better start by Malaga

The first opportunities to score were for the local team. Charles, Juankar and Thigaduini, with a great personal play, had the leading role in the closest chances. However, none of them had a goal as a reward. This was mainly due to Adan, the away goalkeeper. Even though there was a seemingly local dominance, the clearest chance of the first half was for the away team. A measured cross by Joaquin was headed by Ruben Castro, who with no opposition sent the ball over the crossbar.

Ruben Castro, a goal worth three points

Betis’ striker has now seven goals under his belt and is the top goal scorer for his team. Seven out of the eleven goals that Betis has scored this season have his signature. Ruben Castro took advantage of a mistake by the Malaga defence, which until then had been very solid. The forward received the ball next to the side line and didn’t miss against Kameni. A goal that is worth three points. The striker has scored in the last four fixtures.

Adan, the best for Betis

The goalkeeper discouraged the rivals’ dream for a goal. The Betis’s keeper was particularly effective. Juankar, one of the most outstanding players for the local team and who is in great form, came up against Adan once and again. Also, he was responsible for one of the saves of the match day. Charles, inside the box, executed a powerful shot that Adan saved.

Betis maintains their away streak

Pepe Mel’s side has only lost one match away from their stadium. It was against Real Madrid. Three victories and two draws are the results Betis has had in away fixtures and has turned into one of the most feared teams in the Liga BBVA far from their stadium.

Second defeat in La Rosaleda

Malaga has only won two games this season. Both at their stadium and in their last two matches in La Rosaleda, against Real Sociedad and RC Deportivo. However, this time it couldn’t be. Betis stopped the winning streak that Javi Garcia’s team had in their stadium. His team continues to lack goals, having only scored five. With this defeat Malaga is still in the bottom positions of the league.
