Record tickets sales to see the FC Twente-FC Barcelona match

Whatever happens in the match between FC Twente and FC Barcelona, the news will be in the stands. The first leg of the Round of 16 between the team from the Netherlands and the Catalan club will be the most-watched women's football match in the Netherlands. 13,261 tickets have been sold, so far. Its price is 7.5 euros. Until now, the record attendance was of 13,109 spectators, recorded in a match of the women's first national team.

Europe likes Spanish football, also women´s Spanish football. The visit of the team led by Xavi Llorens has aroused great expectation in the Netherlands. FC Barcelona, from few years now, has become one of the biggest teams in Europe. It was top seeded in the draw for the knockout stages of the Champions League.

On the other side, the Dutch fans are endeavoring with FC Twente. Not for less. The team led by Arjan Veurink got rid of the powerful Bayern Munich in the knockout phase. Made history, as never before a German team was out in the first round. The match was held at the FC Twente Stadion, Enschede, in which also plays its home games the men´s first team.
