Llorente’s opportunism
Rayo Vallecano were looking to end a run of five straight defeats and struck first to take the lead from a dead-ball situation after 15 minutes. It was Rayo’s first attempt on goal as Roberto Trashorras swung in a corner and defender Diego Llorente headed home the opener.
Elustondo levels
The team from San Sebastian responded quickly. They took advantage of Rayo’s disjointed passing in midfield to apply pressure on Yoel’s goal. It was a set piece that undid Rayo, as Ruben Pardo’s freekick was guided home by Elustondo.

Jozabed pounces on a mistake
After the break, Paco Jemez's men regained the intensity of the first half and Rayo dominated possession again. Midfielder Jozabed made the most of an error in the visitors’ defence to break free and beat Geronimo Rulli in a one-on-one.
Bruma from another set-piece
The hosts, who boast the worst defence in the division, were unable to maintain their advantage. Another cross from Ruben Pardo found Bruma inside the box, and the Portuguese forward scored with a great volley.
