Real Sociedad and Villarreal CF play Saturday’s final game in Liga BBVA, and both sides will be keen to get back to winning ways. Neither side have won recently, and therefore three points are vital for the side’s ambitions: securing their place in the division in the case of the Basques, and their place in Europe, for the Yellow Submarines.
Team news
This is a game that is notable for its absentees. Alfreð Finnbogason, Iñigo Martínez and Joseba Zaldua are all unavailable for David Moyes. Meanwhile for the visitors, Mateo Musacchio, Bruno Soriano, Adrián Marín, Giovani dos Santos, Ikechukwu Uche, Luciano Vietto and Denis Cheryshev all miss out through injury, while Eric Bailly is suspended.
View from the dugout
"We play very differently at home than we do away, and we are looking to play as we do at the Anoeta”, said Moyes. He also said that next season’s ambitions include “fighting for a European place”. Meanwhile, Marcelino, who has never lost to La Real said “each win is a big step to confirming a sixth place finish”.
