Levante UD came agonisingly close to beating Real Madrid in the Liga BBVA, but two goals by the visitors in injury time saw all the points snatched from the Frogs, with the match finishing 3-2 in favour of Carlo Ancelotti’s men.
After a dull first half without much in the way of goal scoring opportunities, Levante came out with a lot more verve for the second 45 minutes and took the lead thanks to a quick counter attack that Baba made no mistake of against the Madrid keeper, Diego López. Joaquín Caparrós’ men’s happiness was short lived though as Sergio Ramos levelled matters for the visitors. With the scoreline reading 1-1, Real Madrid looked a lot more comfortable, and became a greater presence in the Levante goal-mouth but was unable to kill of the tie.
However, despite Madrid seeming to control proceedings, Nabil El Zhar was able to turn the match on its head by giving Levante the lead once again. Just as it looked like the home side would close out the game on top, Álvaro Morata popped up in the 90th minute to level matters once again for Ancelotti’s men. Then, with seemingly nothing left on the clock, Crisitano Ronaldo appeared to save Real Madrid’s blushes and ensure the Whites left Valencia with all three points.
