Saturday in Liga BBVA saw Rayo, Getafe, Real Madrid and Real Sociedad as the main protagonists, gaining victories in their respective games. Real Betis Balompié, meanwhile, are now mathematically relegated.
Carlo Ancelotti’s side continue to fight for top spot thanks to their 4-0 win over CA Osasuna. Cristiano Ronaldo, who reached 100 Liga BBVA goals at the Santiago Bernabéu scored twice, whilst Sergio Ramos and Dani Carvajal sealed the win.
In Saturday’s other games, Rayo Vallecano continue their impressive run with a 0-3 win over Granada CF at the Nuevo Los Cármenes thanks to goals from de Sául Ñíguez, Joaquín Larrivey and Seba Fernández, who is now back following a serious knee injury. Getafe made it a good day for Madrid’s sides, securing a 1-0 win over Málaga CF, moving Cosmin Contra’s side out of the relegation zone for the time being.
The negative note of the day was Betis’s relegation following Getafe’s win. The Andalusian side lost to Real Sociedad 1-0 in the day’s late kick off. With this result, the Basque outfit sealed their ticket for Europe next season.
