The ball gets rolling in the second match of the LFP World Challenge Tour with a duel that sees Rayo Vallecano and Real Sociedad face each other in the Chinese city of Nanjing. 'Donostiarras' and 'Madrileños' take on one of their most demanding challenges before the season begins at the Wutaishan Sports Center Stadium, a stadium with a 22,000 seat capacity, at 19:30 local time (13:00 CET).
Both sides arrive well into their pre-seasons, with the aim of polishing the finer details of their game and bringing the spectacle of Spanish football to the Chinese audience. "I think it’s positive, even more so bearing in mind that in our case we have a Chinese sponsor; coming to visit them so that they can get to know the team and the players is really good", said the Real player Xabi Prieto with regards to the game.
Real Sociedad come into the clash having drawn 1-1 with the French side Toulouse in their last friendly, a test which enabled Scottish manager David Moyes to draw new conclusions on his team in the middle of the improvement phase. For their part, Rayo Vallecano arrive at the meeting wanting to improve how they’ve looked after losing two games in a row against FC St. Pauli and Albacete Balompié, something which means that Paco Jémez’s team need to get the feel-good factor back and improve their performances in the LaLiga World event.
