Rayo Oklahoma City. That is the name that will show on its shirts a new team in the NASL (North American Soccer League). A new franchise founded by Rayo Vallecano in order to expand Rayo Vallecano de Madrid brand and the Spanish football in America.

A project that began to take shape in the summer of 2014 and which has a release date: the 2016 season "We have founded a team. It is a complex and very elaborate process, is very difficult to get a place", said Raul Martin Presa. For the president, there are three objectives that the club sought with this project:
1. Develop Rayo Vallecano´s brand abroad.
2. Raise awareness of Rayo´s values, unique in the sport world, outside Spain.
3. Build assets abroad that can strengthen Rayo Vallecano and make increase its value.
Why Oklahoma? For Martín Presa: "The choice of Oklahoma to host the new franchise responds to the need for a local partner who understands the market, is an immersion in a different culture, in a country where football coexists with other sports."
Rayo Oklahoma City will begin to play in 2016. The "Franja" has already crossed the pond and has arrived to America.
