Celta Vigo midfielder Rafinha Alcántara has been bestowed with the Liga BBVA player of the month award for February, an honour handed out by the official sponsor of the Liga de Fútbol Profesional.
"It is an honour, I am proud to receive this award and I would like to thank my teammates. I feel great, more confident and fitter than ever", stated the player after receiving the award from the hands of Javier Iglesias, director of BBVA in Vigo, and Ignacio Presas, a BBVA financial advisor.
Rafinha, who joined the Balaídos outfit on loan from Barcelona this season, has played 25 of the Galician side’s 26 matches in the competition so far, making him one of Luis Enrique’s most valuable men.
During February the Spanish-Brazilian attacking midfielder played every minute of Celta’s four matches, a set of fixtures that ended with two wins and two draws for the Sky Blues. On top of that, the son of former player Mazinho scored a goal in the Liga BBVA matchday 25 clash against Getafe, his fourth of the season, which earned his side a point.
