Rafa Benitez sacked as coach of Real Madrid

Real Madrid and Rafa Benitez have parted company. Club president Florentino Perez gave a news conference on Monday announcing the decision taken by the board.

Benitez returned to the club where he had previously worked in the youth academy to replace Carlo Ancelotti. After league 18 games, he left the club in third place in the Liga BBVA with 11 wins, four draws and three defeats, having scored 47 goals and conceded 18.
