Real Betis vs. Real Madrid
Real Madrid returned to the top of LaLiga Santander after their crucial 2-0 victory at home to FC Barcelona in last weekend’s ElClásico. It was their first win after three league matches and saw them regain a one-point lead at the top. This weekend, they travel to face Real Betis. The hosts are without a win in their last six LaLiga Santander matches, leaving them sitting in 14th position in the table. A win for the visitors would keep them ahead in the exciting race for the title and they will be confident of winning the three points as they are unbeaten in their last five LaLiga Santander visits to the Estadio Benito Villamarín.
FC Barcelona vs. Real Sociedad
FC Barcelona suffered their fifth LaLiga Santander loss of the season at the Santiago Bernabéu on Sunday, a result which saw them slip back to second in this enthralling title race. The defeat ended a run of four-straight league victories and they will be looking to get back to winning ways on Saturday. Real Sociedad arrive as one of the league’s form teams, with five wins in their last six LaLiga Santander outings. Sitting in sixth place in the table, a victory could see them enter the top four. They would, however, need to end a run of 10-consecutive LaLiga Santander defeats away at FC Barcelona.
Atlético de Madrid vs. Sevilla FC
Arguably the most intriguing fixture of matchday 27 sees fifth placed Atlético de Madrid host third placed Sevilla FC at the Wanda Metropolitano. An 11th LaLiga Santander draw of the season away to RCD Espanyol last weekend saw Atlético slip behind this weekend’s visitors in the race for the top four, meaning this weekend’s match could have huge repercussions for the rest of the season. The hosts are unbeaten in their last four league games, whilst Sevilla FC have lost just one of their last five. Matches between these two teams are often tight, with each of the last three LaLiga Santander encounters ending in a draw.
Getafe CF vs. RC Celta
Getafe won their first league game in three as they were 1-0 victors away to RCD Mallorca last weekend. The result moved them back into the top four ahead of the arrival of 17th placed RC Celta. The visitors have moved three points clear of the bottom three thanks to a run of four league games unbeaten. They will be looking to put further distance between themselves and the relegation zone over the coming weeks, but are without a win in the last five LaLiga Santander meetings with Getafe CF.
