The dream of competing in the Liga BBVA next season starts for R. Valladolid and UD Las Palmas, who finished fifth and fourth in Liga Adelante respectively. The Canarian outfit managed a 2-1 away win in the 14th round of Liga Adelante, whilst in the second half of the season they drew 1-1. The previous meetings show there isn’t much between the sides and the two coaches, Joan Francesc Ferrer 'Rubi' and Paco Herrera agree.
Team news
Central defender Marc Valiente is the only absentee in the Pucelana’s squad, who recover Omar Ramos after a one-match ban. Las Palmas coach Paco Herrera has a fully-fit squad to choose from for the match after Sergio Araújo and Ángel López overcame niggles.
The coaches’ view
Rubi foresees a "very tight tie that will go down to the wire". The Catalan coach also highlighted that both sides have plenty of similarities. “We are two teams that are similar in many things, with very good players, but we also have different features.”
Paco Herrera agrees with Rubi in that there will be two well-balanced clashes that will be decided by "small details". Moreover, he added that Valladolid as a team are "the most difficult of all". However, he believes in his squad: "If the two teams do things the normal way I think we are better than the opponent".
