UD Las Palmas and R. Valladolid CF will meet at the Estadio de Gran Canaria in order to finally decide which side will go through to the playoff final in order to gain promotion to the Liga BBVA. The first game ended with a close 1-1 draw, and the result means that the knockout round is still very open with lots of chances for both sides. The Canary side could go through with a 0-0 draw, as they scored in the previous game away from home; but both they and Valladolid will be giving everything on the pitch in order to become the third side to get promotion.
Team News
The good news for the Canary Islanders is that they have all of their players available. However, for the return leg, the Valladolid manager Joan Francesc Ferrer 'Rubi' will not have the full back Francisco Javier Chica or the midfielder David Timor available after the both received their second yellows at the José Zorrilla. Nor will the injured player Marc Valiente be available.
Thoughts from the dugout
Paco Herrera believes that this will be a very close game, with an even possibilities for either side: "We have a fifty percent chance of winning or losing". He highlights the fact his side are playing in front of their fans, who he gives a ten out of ten: "I am certain that they are going to help us. They will be with us from beginning to end".
Likewise, Rubi feels optimistic and that is side have a chance to finish up a great season. "Everything is very tight and anything could happen. We will have chances and we must be effective. We just need to win the game and that is how we are viewing it. We are convinced we can do it", he stated.
