Nobody had them among the favourites, but Girona FC have become the surprise package in the first third of the competition in the Liga Adelante. This week we meet Pablo Machín, who after working a miracle last season to ensure his team's survival, has got his side off to a storming start and is locking horns with the giants in the championship.
Behind Girona, Real Zaragoza and Real Betis are fighting for the top spots. The two sides face each other at La Romareda in the Match of the Day, in which we preview a classic clash in Spanish football with the impressions of Victor Muñoz, Dorca and Mario for the Aragonese side, and of Rennella, Pacheco and Julio Velázquez for the Béticos.
In the battle to climb out of the danger zone, two old acquaintances meet. UE Llagostera host CD Tenerife. Juanjo, formerly of the Chicharreros, and Aitor Sanz keep us up to date before a crucial fixture in another instalment of One on One.
In The Rest of the Matchday we preview all of the games. This week the show features Jonathan Valle, who returns to Santander, Jordi López and 'Pitu' Abelardo.
We also welcome another team that accepted our Trash Can Challenge. Albacete B. put their skills to the test and after Llagostera, la SD Ponferradina, Girona and CD Leganés they are the fifth club to take on this unique challenge.
Will Albacete do better than the teams that went before them? For this and much more, like every week, the most complete preview is brought to you by #LigaShowAdelante.
