Official statement

In view of the situation brought to light by Valencia CF yesterday, Wednesday 14 September, in relation to the pressure, threats and coercion that the club, its staff and fans housed in the Young Supporters Enclosure at Mestalla are being subject to, LaLiga wishes to express its full support for Valencia CF, its staff and supporters. 

The situation described in the official statement released by Valencia CF is completely unacceptable. Nobody, be it on an individual or collective level, should be looking to impose themselves on other supporters, and even less so through the use of threats, coercion and force. A stadium is intended solely as an arena in which to express passion for sport and in which any other type of behaviour has no place. Indeed, protests should be carried out with respect and not end up involving insults and an attitude of contempt.

LaLiga offers Valencia CF and its supporters all of its resources in an effort to eradicate both physical and verbal violence from our game. Valencia CF have been making notable efforts in this regard, and in light of the circumstances detailed in the statement issued by the club, this task assumes even greater value.
