Official Statement

Written denouncements that the LFP will send to the Professional Competition Committee.

Under the rules of the Real Federación Española de Fútbol, la Liga de Fútbol Profesional will every Tuesday send a letter denouncing the shouting of chants that incite violence, racism, xenophobia and intolerance in sport to the Professional Competition Committee, given that such actions are contrary to the judicial regimen put forward in the RFEF’s Disciplinary Code.

This letter of denouncement will be sent each Thursday to the Antiviolence Commission. We also underline that the LFP has set up a mailbox to which fans attending matches can send their complaints, suggests or requests with the purpose of contributing to the fight against violence in stadiums. 1. LIGA BBVA

RCD Espanyol - FC Barcelona     

 

 

The offending insults are described below, they were chanted exclusively by supporters of Real Club Deportivo Espanyol, SAD, recognisable by their different flags, scarves, shirts and banners, located in sectors 108, 109, 110 and 111 in the Gol Nord part of the stadium, specifically by the group known as “LA CURVA RCDE”. The chants and insults were shouted in a co-ordinated and repeated manner, by groups of between 300 and 600 supporters, situated on both sides of the central area of the stand behind the goal, and, owing to a protest organised by the aforementioned supporters group “La Curva” during the first half, the fans in sections in 109 and 110 fought each other at this moment, close to the zones 108, 111 and the other surrounding free areas, from where they shouted the aforementioned shouts, leaving sectors 109 and 100 practically empty during the first half.

1) During the warm up and in the minutes before kick-off the chant “PUTA BARÇA PUTA BARÇA EH!” was shouted on different occasions, both by isolated individuals and by large groups of supporters, the latter chanting the message in chorus and in a coordinated manner.

2) Throughout the game, and in different moments of the match the following chants were heard repeatedly:

■ In minutes 6, 11, 15, 17, 57, 61 and 92, the message “PUTA BARÇA PUTA BARÇA EH!” was shouted.

■ In the 7th minute the words “MESSI SUBNORMAL” were chanted repeatedly.

■ In the 52th minute the chant “diver, diver” was shouted, in reference to a player from Fútbol Club Barcelona who found himself on the floor after being fouled.

■ In the 56th minute the expression “ADIÓS, HIJO DE PUTA, ADIÓS” was shouted at the FC Barcelona player Jordi Alba, when he was leaving the field of play after being sent off.

■ In the 56th minute the expression “PUTA BARÇA, PUTA BARÇA, BARÇA MUÉRETE” was chanted.

■ In the 83th minute the expression “OLELÉ, OLALÁ, SER DEL BARÇA ES, SER UN SUBNORMAL” was chanted.

3) In addition to the aforementioned events, television footage has showed that the following chants and expressions were heard:

■ “PIQUÉ CABRÓN, SHAKIRA TIENE RABO, TU HIJO ES DE WAKASO, Y TÚ ERES MARICÓN”, directed towards Fútbol Club Barcelona defender Gerard Piqué.

■ A chant in which the following words were muttered: “ODIO A LOS CULÉS”.

■ The expression “UH, UH, UH!” imitating monkey noise, was directed towards Fútbol Club Barcelona players Dani Alves y Neymar.

In reference to the measures taken to prevent violence by the club, the following points should be mentioned:

(i) the scoreboard repeatedly showed the following message, in Catalan: “You are reminded that legislation to prevent violence in sport prohibits and sanctions the active participation of acts that are violent, xenophobic, homophobic or racist. (ii) In the scoreboard of the “U publicitaria televisiva” the message “RCD Espanyol against Violence and Insults in Football” was displayed.

 

Sevilla FC - Rayo Vallecano

Throughout the match and at different moments insulting messages were chanted by the home fans, identified by scarves, flags, banners and shirts, exclusively by the fans located in the Grada Baja Gol Norte area of the ground, specifically “Banco de Pista Norte”, where the group known as BIRIS NORTE are located. The group consisted of around 1000 people, wearing different symbols identified with said group. The chants that were heard are detailled below, in chronological order:

1) In the 19th minute the expression “POLICÍA ASESINA!” was directed at police working in the stadium. The chant was sung in chorus, coordinated and repeated, uniquely and exclusively by said group, and was not repeated by the rest of the fans in the stadium, whose behaviour was exemplary throughout the match.

2) In the 20th minute, a section of said group of supporters sung, in reference to Club Atlético de Madrid, SAD and to the tune of the official anthem of the club, the following words “ATLETI, ATLETI, ATLÉTICO DE MADRID, MIERDA”. The chant was sung in chorus, coordinated and repeated, uniquely and exclusively by said group, and was not repeated by the rest of the fans in the stadium, whose behaviour was exemplary throughout the match.

3) In the 20th minute, a group of the home team’s supporters chanted “FRENTE ATLÉTICO ASESINO!”, in reference to the group of supporters of Club Atlético de Madrid SAD known as “Frente Atlético”. The chant was sung in chorus, coordinated and repeated, uniquely and exclusively by said group, and was not repeated by the rest of the fans in the stadium, whose behaviour was exemplary throughout the match.

4) In the 82nd minute the message “VERDIBLANCO HIJO DE PUTA!”, was chanted in reference to the player wearing shirt nº 24 of Rayo Vallecano de Madrid, SAD, D. Alejandro Pozuelo Melero, a former player of Real Betis Balompié, in the moment in which he was substituted. The chant was sung in chorus, coordinated and repeated, uniquely and exclusively by said group, and was not repeated by the rest of the fans in the stadium, whose behaviour was exemplary throughout the match.

In reference to the measures taken to prevent violence by Sevilla FC, SAD, the following points should be mentioned: in the days before the game, the club informed the Liga of the launch and implementation of a new packet of measures designed specifically to prevent violence, that would be put into practice in the game, putting them into action in the lead up to the game and during it. The following points should be mentioned:

1) On the club’s official website and on social media channels the following message was displayed: “ANIMAR SIN INSULTOS. RESPETAR EL FÚTBOL EN EL SÁNCHEZ – PIZJUÁN”.

2) Before the match and at half-time a message was read out via megaphone, condemning any type of violence, accompanied by the broadcasting of videos on the scoreboard, with different messages against Violence. These images were also displayed during the match, in minutes 8’, 53’ and 78’.

3) The club’s official twitter account also carried out different activities with the same aim.

4) The brand name “CORDIALITY” appeared on the club’s official website to forment tolerance in football. The same message was displayed in different blocks in the stadium.

5) There was an increased presence of security guards and police officers in the area occupied by BIRIS NORTE.

 2. LIGA ADELANTE

CA Osasuna - Albacete Balompié

In the 54th minute of the match, the player wearing jersey number 15 for Albacete Balompié “Portu”, was the victim of an insulting chant. After scoring for the visiting team the player ran towards the GOL SUR end of the stadium, where Osasuna supporters known as the “INDAR GORRI” gather (identified by shirts, scarves, banners and flags), and celebrated the goal, crossing his arms and staring at the supporters. The aforementioned group of supporters reacted by chanting “HIJO DE PUTA, ERES UN HIJO DE PUTA, HIJO DE PUTA, ERES UN HIJO DE PUTA”, in chorus, in a repeated and coordinated manner.

Immediately after these incidents, the home team projected the following message on their video scoreboard: Afición + Respeto= Vive el Fútbol”, the motto of the La Liga and the professional clubs’ campaign against violence.

In reference to the measures taken to prevent violence, the following points should e noted: (i) at the start of the first half and second half the home fans read out a message via megaphone, appealing for respect at sports grounds (ii) numerous security checks were carried out at the access gates to the stadium. Banners with prohibited messages were confiscated, as were any objects considered potentially dangerous.
