Nuno Espírito’s Valencia CF draw a curtain on Liga BBVA matchday 21 action with a game against Málaga CF which, should Los Che win, would see them equal the club’s best ever start to a Liga BBVA season, a record set during the 2003/04 campaign. The Andalusian side will be looking to put a smile back on their fans’ faces, after having gone four games on the bounce without a win.

Team news

Javi Gracia has named an 18-man squad for the Rosaleda outfit, which includes Arthur Boka, Luis Alberto and Sergi Darder. Sergio Sánchez also makes his way into the list of names after getting over his injury. Meanwhile, Valencia will be without Argentine Pablo Piatti, who is still injured, although Carlos Carbonell 'Tropi' will be part of the squad.

Views from the dugouts

The home side’s boss, Javi Gracia, declared that while his team are not one of Valencia’s "direct rivals", they are "motivated" to triumph in this clash. "It will be difficult to win, but we will give it our all once again", he pointed out. For his part, Nuno, stated: "We have to be aware that we have an obligation to pick up points. We’ll need a lot of points in order to achieve our goals and any points you can get against direct opponents are hugely important".
