Parity and order
The clash between Barcelona and Villarreal was marked by the parity from the first minute. Marcelino Garcia Toral’s plan took effect at the start and Barça struggled to find spaces through the away defence. While the local side persistently looked for a goal through Neymar’s runs, the team from Castellon attempted to surprise with counter attacks, although the clearest chance come from a long shot by Soldado.
Areola's confidence
Areola was particularly outstanding for Villarreal’s side. The keeper had another great performance in goal and managed to save Barcelona’s best opportunities. Areola kept his team in the match with great saves, including a one on one against Iniesta.
Busquets assists, Neymar scores
Barcelona struggled to get ahead on the scoreboard until a perfect pass slipped through by Sergio Busquets changed things. The midfielder recovered a ball close to the area and assisted Neymar perfectly for him not to miss the one on one against Areola.
Penalty on Munir
Villarreal suffered the setback from the goal and things got even worse when Jaume Costa knocked Munir over inside the box. Luis Suarez took the responsibility and added the second goal onto the score. The Uruguayan and Neymar continue scoring in Leo Messi’s absence.
Amazing goal by Neymar
In a resolute match and Villarreal without any strength to react, came Neymar’s spectacular goal, a goal that will be one of the best of the season. The forward received the ball from Luis Suarez and, in the same move, he chipped it over Costa to then strike it without it touching the ground and put the supporters on their feet. Neymar and Suarez lead Barcelona once again.
