Miguel Gutiérrez named LALIGA EA SPORTS Under-23 Player of the Month for April

Miguel Gutiérrez has been named the LALIGA EA SPORTS Under-23 Player of the Month for April, an award handed out by LALIGA in partnership with Sorare. The 22-year-old, now a crucial part of Michel’s Girona side, has been one of LaLiga’s breakout stars of the 2023/24 campaign.

The left-back’s performances once again proved to be pivotal for the Catalans in April. He gave two assists in Girona’s 3-0 win over Cádiz FC, which sealed his side’s place in Europe for next season. The first was a sensational back-heel to Iván Martín for Girona’s second goal, while the following one saw Artem Dovbyk round off the victory to make it 3-0.

Girona’s number 3 earns this award for the first time after overcoming stiff competition from Villarreal CF’s Alex Baena, RC Celta’s Hugo Álvarez, Real Madrid’s Jude Bellingham and Valencia CF’s Cristhian Mosquera.
