With the 29th round of LaLiga Santander fixtures now all done and dusted, it's time to take stock and reveal the latest LaLiga Fantasy MARCA Best XI.
This star-studded lineup features representatives from no fewer than seven different clubs:
Valencia CF, CD Leganes, Atletico Madrid, R. Valladolid CF, FC Barcelona, Athletic Club and Real Madrid. On this occasion, the Player of the Matchday accolade goes to a certain Lionel Messi, who retains his place in the side on the back of an impressive 17-point showing.
The man to get the nod between the sticks this time round is Valencia's Neto. The Brazilian shotstopper kept a clean sheet as Los Che eked out a 1-0 away success over Sevilla FC, pulling off five fine saves en route to an 11-point display. Lining up in front of him is a formidable-looking three-man backline consisting of his teammate Ezequiel Garay, Leganes stopper Rodrigo Tarin and Atleti stalwart Jose Maria Gimenez, all of whom amassed 12 points.
The middle third is occupied by four ball-playing maestros, who were all on target in their respective outings. The goalscoring performances fromR. Valladolid wideman Keko Gontan (13), Valencia's Dani Parejo (12) and Atletico duo Thomas Partey (13) and Saul Ñiguez (14) were enough to see them make the cut.
Last but not least, the team's deadly striking trident features Iñaki Williams, Karim Benzema (14 points apiece) and the aforementioned Messi. Both the Basque speed merchant and Los Blancos' hitman struck once as Athletic and Real Madrid came out on top in their respective games, whilst the Player of the Matchday bagged a brace as Barcelona saw off local rivals RCD Espanyol.
