Lux holds Deportivo

It was Real Sociedad who started dominating the game, having many chances on the Galician goal. In these attempts, keeper German Lux was the hero of the night holding his team with some miraculous saves. The first of them was with his foot, saving Jonathas shot. Later, the Argentinian avoided conceding in a one on one against Ruben Pardo.

Luis Alberto hit first

Despite the Basque great start, it was Deportivo who managed to get ahead on the score. They did so thanks to Luis Alberto after 26 minutes of play, when Lucas Perez recovered the ball following an awful back pass by Yuri Berchiche.

Basque payback

Even though they were behind on the score, Eusebio Sacristan’s men didn’t give up. They kept control over the ball and continued approaching the away box with danger. They would end up finding their reward in the 75th minute, although it had to come from a penalty kick. Xavi Prieto took the responsibility of taking the penalty which had been caused thanks to him.

The woodwork avoided the home victory

Twice Real Sociedad hit the post at the end of the game. The Basques took a step forward in search for the three points, but luck wasn’t on their side. First it was Jonathas who saw his shot smash the post, while youngster Mikel Oyarzabal had the same result to his fierce strike.

Bruma

The Real Sociedad midfielder was one of the men of the match. He was a constant threat for the rivals’ defence, due to his speed and ability. He only needed a goal to put an end to a perfect game.
