Luka Modrić has a knee sprain

Real Madrid have problems in the Liga BBVA. The Whites, who won 3-1 against Málaga CF on matchday 32, will be without Luka Modrić over the coming weeks due to injury.

The Croatian player, who returned to the squad only a few weeks after a four month injury, suffered a sprain to the medial collateral ligament of his right knee, according to the medical report from his club. The injury means he will be out of action for a few weeks. The Whites announced that the duration of the player’s injury will depend on how he recovers.

Modrić suffered an accidental blow in the game against the Andalusian side and had to be substituted in order to undergo further medical tests. Gareth Bale was another played who came away from the game with an injury. The Welshman suffered sharp pain in his left calf muscle and went off two minutes into the game.
