Luis Enrique, the FC Barcelona coach, has been awarded the 2015 FIFA World Coach of Men's Football at the FIFA Ballon d'Or gala held in Zurich (Switzerland). The Spaniard beat compatriot and Bayern Munich boss Pep Guardiola and Argentine Jorge Sampaoli, the Chile national team coach, in the vote.
The five titles won in his first year and a half at the helm of FC Barcelona earned him this prestigious award. The 45-year-old guided the club to triumphs in the Liga BBVA, UEFA Champions League, Copa del Rey, UEFA Super Cup and FIFA Club World Cup. His side currently lie second in the Liga BBVA two points behind leaders Atletico Madrid but with a game in hand.
This new award goes alongside those he won last season as the Liga BBVA Best Coach of the 2014-15 season, presented by the editors of www.laliga.es, and the IFFHS award for the World's Best Club Coach in 2015.
