SÁB 12.03.2016
Team News:
- UD Las Palmas: Hernan, Javi Castellano, Vicente Gomez and Wakaso (all injured).
- Real Madrid: Karim Benzema (injured).
Match Facts:
Las Palmas (15th, 30 pts):
- The Canary Islanders' morale is sky-high after three straight victories which have propelled them out of the relegation zone. The latest of those wins, against high-flying Villarreal CF, showed just how far they have come.
- Quique Setien seems to have found the perfect formula up front, with Willian Jose playing off Jonathan Viera and Tana. The trio are in excellent form and are their side's main threat.
- However, if anyone exemplifies the team's revival, that is David Garcia. At the age of 34, he is savouring his maiden campaign in the Liga BBVA and has earned Setien's faith, which he repaid with the winner against Villarreal – his first-ever top-flight goal – last matchday.
Real Madrid (3rd, 60 pts):
- The Madrid side are firing on all cylinders once again. They breezed past RC Celta last weekend and followed that up by booking their place in the Champions League quarter-finals.
- Los Blancos haven't lost in their last five away games in the league. However, nothing less than three points will do in order to keep up the pressure on Atletico Madrid and FC Barcelona.
- Cristiano Ronaldo goes into the match on the strength of his new status as the second top scorer in LaLiga history – with 252 goals, he overtook Telmo Zarra last time out.
Don't leave Las Palmas without… visiting the Bandama Caldera. This vast volcanic crater, situated in the north-east of the island, is a stunning natural spot offering fabulous views over the surrounding landscape.
