#LigaBBVAExperience brings LaLiga closer to the fans

More than 120 fans from 25 countries around the world will be taking part

LaLiga is rolling out its Liga BBVA Experience, a project that allows fans from around the world to experience the Spanish top flight in a highly unique and special way. Tasked with raising awareness of this ambitious initiative are Fernando Sanz, LaLiga’s Middle East office manager, responsible for international projects, and Adolfo Bara, LaLiga’s sales, marketing and sponsorship director.

Taking part will be fans from countries where international operators have audiovisual rights for LaLiga. These broadcasters will select the winners from different contests, games and prize draws, who then get the chance to travel to Spain at different times in the footballing calendar coinciding with 10 Liga BBVA matchdays. Once in Spain, they will take part in a series of original and fun-packed activities, visit the different cities and go to the matches. They will also get the opportunity to meet some of LaLiga’s biggest stars and take part in fan-based activities at local clubs. “This is one way to show people that LaLiga is much more than just a game of 90 minutes. It’s not only about selling audiovisual broadcast rights for matches. We have to be much more proactive,” said Adolfo Bara, sales, marketing and sponsorship director for LaLiga. “The clubs and the players will also actively participate in the project and there has been a very positive reaction from everyone; they are delighted to be able to meet fans from around the world,” added Fernando Sanz, LaLiga’s Middle East office manager, responsible for international projects.

Besides the #LigaBBVAExperience hashtag, a special site has been created within the LaLiga website www.laliga.es for sharing content and experiences. Here, users can view photos and videos and get a first-hand look at the winning fans’ experiences.

This project highlights the importance that LaLiga places on fans around the globe and the role they play in its internationalisation strategy which strives to ensure that Spanish football is seen and followed with passion all over the world.
