The 2015/16 season is progressing and after seven matchdays played, Liga BBVA is the most competitive compared to the big leagues in Europe.

In Spain, the current leader, Villarreal CF, has 16 points and only exceeds the second by a point. In addition, Real Madrid, FC Barcelona and RC Celta are second, third and fourth, tied with 15 points. The fifth-placed Atletico Madrid has 13 points, just three off the lead.

Meanwhile, in leagues such as Germany or France, the difference is wider. The Bundesliga is led by Bayern Munich, with full of victories and 24 points on the table. The difference with the second, Borussia Dortmund, is of seven points. Third-placed Schalke 04, has a point less than Borussia and is eight points behind Bayern.

The same goes in Ligue 1 with PSG, as the Parisian team is on the top of the table with 23 points and a difference of five with the second, Angers SCO, who has 18, as with the third, SM Caen, who also added 18 points. Behind, the Stade Rennais FC and AS Saint-Etienne, are placed in fourth and fifth place with 16 points.

English and Italian leagues are more even, but not as much as Liga BBVA. The leader of the Premier League, Manchester City with 18 points, exceed the second-placed Arsenal FC, by two points. The Gunners are tied with the third-placed Manchester United, both with 16 points. The fourth and fifth on the table, Crystal Palace and Leicester City, added 15 points.

In Serie A, Fiorentina is in the lead with 18 points. The second, Inter Milan, follows closely with 16. SS Lazio, follows Inter with 15 points, while AS Roma is not far behind with 14 points.
