Cadiz CF 0-1 R. Valladolid CF
Joan Jordan decided the opening fixture of LaLiga 1|2|3 Matchday 21, handing R. Valladolid an important victory against fellow promotion chasers. The former RCD Espanyol schemer picked up Alex Lopez's pass, turned and fired in a long-range strike that bounced just in front of goal, bamboozling home keeper Alberto.
Rayo Vallecano 1-1 Sevilla Atletico
Ruben Baraja's Rayo's wait for a return to winning ways continues for another week, although on this occasion they will have been grateful simply not to have ended up empty-handed. The game was just a couple of minutes old when Ivi pounced on a loose ball and drilled the away team into the lead. It looked for all the world like that strike would prove enough to secure the spoils, only for Adri Embarba's deflected finish to make it honours even in the dying stages.
CD Mirandes 0-3 CD Numancia
Numancia recorded their first away victory of the season to move on to 27 points and rise into mid-table. A Julio Alvarez penalty, Alex Ortiz's own goal and Alberto Escassi's tap-in gave Jagoba Arrasate's side a shot in the arm, while Mirandes remain mired in the danger zone.
R. Oviedo 2-1 Elche CF
Fernando Hierro's charges withstood a late fightback at the Carlos Tartiere to end their winless run. Toche converted from close range from a low cross to put the Asturians in the ascendancy. Nestor Susaeta made it 2-0 and, although Nino reduced the arrears with a header, Elche were unable to find a leveller.
UCAM Murcia CF 1-1 Nastic
The clash between the division's bottom two finished even-stevens, meaning Nastic stay rooted to the foot of the table. The Catalans forged in front in the first half, Luismi smashing home from a few yards, but Natalio Lorenzo's well-taken 67th-minute volley earned UCAM a share of the spoils, with neither side able to snatch a winner.
CD Tenerife 1-0 R. Zaragoza
It is onwards and upwards for Tenerife after they claimed maximum points against another team targeting promotion. German Sanchez nodded in the lone goal of the game against a Zaragoza side who would have hoped for better but were simply outplayed at the Heliodoro Rodriguez Lopez.
Getafe CF 1-1 RCD Mallorca
The islanders put paid to Jose Bordalas's side's winning streak at home and came mighty close to going away with all three points. The visitors went ahead when Dejan Lekic's piledriver hit the crossbar, bounced down and rebounded off hapless goalkeeper Alberto Garcia's back and into the net. Mallorca defended their lead stoutly but, not for the first time, Jorge Molina came to Getafe's rescue, equalising from the spot.
CF Reus 1-0 UD Almeria
After two consecutive defeats, Reus tasted sweet victory in LaLiga 1|2|3 once again by overcoming the relegation battlers. Mayor's towering header in the 32nd minute proved enough to clinch a triumph that keeps Natxo Gonzalez's team in touch with the playoff pack, with Almeria failing to make the most of Jorge Diaz's missed penalty after the interval.
SD Huesca 0-2 Levante UD
The Levante juggernaut shows no signs of slowing down. The table-toppers made it five wins on the spin with an impressive away success that sent out another statement of intent to the rest of the division. After Jason Remeseiro had broken the deadlock with a close-range finish on the follow-up in the 22nd minute, Roger Marti put the game to bed with his 13th goal of the campaign 10 minutes after the break.

CD Lugo 1-0 AD Alcorcon
The Madrilenians went into this encounter on cloud nine after qualifying for the Copa del Rey quarter-finals for the first time in their history, but they were brought back down to earth by a Lugo team who were roared on by a boisterous Angel Carro crowd. Alfonso Pedraza was the difference maker, the Villarreal CF loanee's umpteenth crucial strike of the season sealing three big points that lift the Galicians back into the playoff spots
Girona FC 2-0 Cordoba CF
With Getafe and Cadiz dropping points, Girona had a golden opportunity to strengthen their grip on second place. The Catalans did not falter, producing a highly professional performance to maintain their unbeaten record at Montilivi and dispatch opponents who were bidding to put some more daylight between themselves and the drop zone. Fran Sandaza's header in the first minute set Pablo Machin's men on their way, while Portu got the other goal early in the second half.
