Real Betis were beaten 1-3 by CD Leganés on matchday 30 of the Liga Adelante. Having previously gone fifteen matchdays without suffering a single defeat, Pepe Mel’s team finally succumbed to a great Leganés performance, with the visitors doing almost everything right in the Benito Villamarín.
The match got off to an even start but in the 22nd minute the away team went ahead thanks to a fine Javier Eraso goal. The game followed the same script until half time, with Pape Maly Diamanka running the show and Leganés creating numerous chances to double their lead. With injury time almost up, and Diamanka already in the dressing room after receiving a second booking, the Madrid outfit breeched Antonio Adán’s net once again, this time through a Marc Bertrán corner kick which found its way across the line.
Leganés did not let up after the restart, with Sergio Postigo scoring the team's third in the 48th minute. At that point the home team kicked into action and threw everything they had towards Jon Ander Serantes' goal, an insufficient effort despite Jorge Molina narrowing the gap in the 73rd minute, following a good bit of individual play from Álvaro Vadillo. As such, Leganés put an end to the impressive run that Betis began on matchday 15.
