Alfredo Lorenzo, LaLiga's director of integrity and security, participated in the World Stadium Congress which ran from 22 until 24 May in Doha, where he also took part in the European Stadium and Safety Management Association (ESSMA) Workshop. The congress is one of the most important of the year in terms of stadium management and issues related to security, which is a crucial element in the smooth running of events and ensuring supporters are able to enjoy a memorable matchday experience.
During his presentation at the congress, Lorenzo explained the importance of LaLiga's role as competition organiser: "At LaLiga we work hard to make sure that every game goes off peacefully and there are no security issues, allowing both supporters who attend matches and those who watch on television to enjoy the show."
The LaLiga director also spoke about LaLiga's hard work in the field of football security within the context of large-scale events. "At LaLiga we work hand in hand with other bodies to ensure that football is a product offering pure entertainment and passion, free from disorder," pinpointed Lorenzo, who went on to say, "We are keeping Spanish football safe thanks to the cooperation of clubs and organisations such as AFEPE [fan group Aficiones Unidas]."
