Javier Tebas took part in the Third working meeting of the World Leagues Forum, which was held in Mexico on Wednesday 11 May. The LaLiga president was joined by his counterparts from the Premier League, Serie A, the MLS, the Saudi Professional League and the Mexican Bancomer/ASCENSO Leagues, amongst others. In total, nine of the world's major leagues were represented at an event in which issues such as the implementation of a common schedule, broadcasting rights and the transfer system were discussed.

At the conclusion of the meeting, the leaders offered a press conference which was led by Richard Scudamore, chief executive of the Premier League. Scudamore thanked everyone for attending and declared that "all of the leagues are working together for the good of the game."

In reference to broadcasting rights, Scudamore highlighted "the importance of having regulations in place which take into consideration the particular media channel, be it radio, television or the internet." This is an area that LaLiga has been working on since Javier Tebas's appointment as president and which this season culminated in the roll-out of the Royal Decree on the centralised sale of audiovisual rights.

For the purposes of establishing a common understanding between all of world football's institutions, each of the topics discussed at the World Leagues Forum will be put forward to the new FIFA leaders, with a view to working together and continuing to coordinate ideas.
